DESCRIPTION

What if the home can feel just as comfortable and heavenly as the best spa resort experience imaginable? This was the key theme of the Swanlake Residence, a residential project that recreates a year-round luxury resort atmosphere so residents wake up every day with the dream of living at a pristine, lakeside holiday destination.

Located on the shore of Swan Lake in Hanoi, this is the world’s first onsen-integrated luxury residence of its kind. The property recreated a heightened sense of calm and relaxation, repurposed for everyday life and wellness.

CONCEPT & INSPIRATION

Swanlake was the product of a partnership between Ecopark and Nomura, Japan’s oldest and most decorated real estate company with 95 years of heritage and history. The vision for Swanlake was to create the ultimate wellness experience for residents and to craft an everlasting resort stay. The Only Three’s proposal was to construct a residence where every room, on every floor across every building would house its very own personal hot spring, a true domestic haven.

Building on this concept from The Only Three, Swanlake would adopt a Japanese concept called “Omoteinashi”, which translates to “serving from the heart”. This refers to fostering a deep concern for each resident’s every well-being, which remains at the core of service at the property. A 360-degree wellness experience was created, to elevate the residents’ well-being and comfort.

ARCHITECTURE DESIGN

The Only Three worked with some of the most respected names in the hospitality industry, including Nikken Sekkei on the architecture for Swanlake. The property’s design integrates wellness across every corner and outline, from in-room onsens to personalized health technology. We also worked with Tribe Holdings Japan on services and the onsen experience, with the ultimate result being no less than the perfect Japanese craftsmanship.

From the entryway, the lobby of Swanlake was created and finetuned with precision-controlled airflow and temperature for total comfort.

Up in the residential towers, an onsen bath sits steaming in every room, with water siphoned from 14 hot spring pools, for private use throughout the three residential buildings.

The Only Three played a crucial part in crafting the narrative of Swanlake and its immersive attributes, from creating the essence of Japanese zen, to conceptualizing the idea of in-room onsen baths and overlooking the overall movement and tone of the property.

BRAND DESIGN

In the branding process for Swanlake, The Only Three created a strong character for the uniquely positioned residence. We created various different brand elements that complement one another, resonating with the property’s idyllic location, and established key principles behind the brand’s storytelling and identity design, namely “inner grace” and “self-indulgence” to fully represent what it means to be living at a home resort.

Aside from crafting the key concepts, The Only Three also designed the logo for the property, which encapsulates everything that defines the Swanlake Residence; the namesake swan, the lake location, and the landmark building which houses it all. All of these elements coalesce inside a circle, which symbolizes the shape of completeness in Asian culture.

The colour palette includes beige (swan feather and human skin), turquoise (spring water), green (moss) and brown (earth). The elements and colours come together to employ minimalist aesthetic for a light, peaceful feel. All in all, The Only Three helped to design and create the underlying concept that holds Swanlake Residences together; a neverending wellness journey where every element matters.

The Only Three also designed the typography, displaying a sense of delicateness and timelessness experienced within the residence.
